2020, Our Year of Alignment in Christ, reflecting His Light (It’s our time to shine) - Text: Proverbs 4:18

TOYE OGUNGBE·SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 2, 2020·

Welcome to February , the second month of the year. How time flies! During the last quarter of 2019, I taught on “Great Grace” as the scriptures revealed in Acts 4:33. In the Greek, these words are “mega charis” It was through this “mega grace” that the apostles did great exploits. The dead were raised; the blind saw; the lame leapt with joy and walked; and all manner of sicknesses, viruses and diseases bowed to the resurrection power of Christ through the workings of the dynamic Holy Spirit!

It was this teaching that led us to three men in the old testament who displayed manifestations of “great grace.” They were Noah, Job and Daniel, they were the shinning stars of their generations. We are told in Ezekiel 14:14 that they were righteous men! In fact, in 2Peter 2:5, Noah is referred to as a preacher of righteousness. Also, Genesis 6:8 states: “Noah found grace with God.” In our generation it is those whose souls are saved and that have been baptised into Christ Jesus that are the righteous. But it doesn’t end there, God the Father expects us to be fruitful in every good work and to increase in our fruit of righteousness. Colossians 1:10.

I feel prompted to tell you that in 2020 our Heavenly Father expects His children to have a “RIGHTEOUSNESS CONSCIOUSNESS”. In Psalm 35:28, the scripture says: “My tongue shall speak of your righteousness and praise all day long.” In 1 Peter 1:16 He says: “Be holy for I am holy.” Righteousness is God’s nature, it is also the foundation of His throne (Psalm 97:2) He wants us to reflect His light here on earth (Matthew 5:16). In Proverbs 4:18, the scripture says: “The path of the just (the righteous) is like the shinning sun, that shines brighter and brighter unto the perfect day.” In 2020, the way we position ourselves will determine how much we will shine! We need to position ourselves rightly in thoughts and deeds. Noah, Job and Daniel were the shinning stars of their generations, we the righteous are the shinning stars of our generation. As we make this conscious decision, our light will shine brighter and brighter reflecting the marvellous light of Christ, radiating His glory and transforming lives as in the glory of the rising of the morning sun. Blessings.
